Meet TAY
Introducing TAY (A13216046)!!! Wow, what a stunning little lady this doggie is!! Tay is a very sweet, mild mannered Chow/Shepherd mix. She is about 5 years old and is a slight girl at only 32 pounds. Tay was surrendered by her owners on May 30, 2011 along with 4 other similar dogs and a cat because the owners were having a baby. What a shame! Tay is an absolute doll! She is a calm, timid dog who is very well-behaved and easy to please. She seems to love people and will come sit by your side and be content with some pets. Tay is extremely easy to handle and very gentle. Although she is still a bit shy, she does not have any issue with any type of body handling. She also showed no signs of resource guarding with her food. Obviously Tay can live in a house with other pets since she did just fine living with a bunch of other dogs and a kitty. At the shelter, Tay was tested with other dogs and did not show much interest. She did, however, show a bit of interest in cats at the shelter. She is probably wondering where her animal siblings have all gone. How sad that they were all separated and displaced!! Won't you please consider this petite precious princess a new home?? This demure little lady should not be in a shelter! Come meet her today! She will win your heart in no time! You'll just want to scoop her up and pamper her the way she deserves! If you are interested in Tay and have other dogs at home, you should bring them to the shelter for a meet and greet. If you have cats at home, someone at the shelter would gladly test her again with cats.

Are you interested in one of the dogs at PSPCA/ACCT? If so…
Great! First, decide if you are interested in fostering or adopting!
To determine whether you should apply to foster versus adopt, please consider the following information:
-To adopt a dog means to commit to being the primary caregiver for the dog and keep it in your possession, for yourself for the rest of its life. Adult dogs are $75 to adopt, puppies (under 6 months old) are $125- that donation covers the vaccines, microchip, surgery, etc that the dog has received.
- To foster a dog means to commit to temporarily caring for the dog/cat while also working to find the dog/cat a “forever home”/adopter. While fostering the dog/cat remains PSPCA’s property, but the foster parent takes responsibility for marketing the dog/cat, and doing a preliminary screening of any potential adopters. When an adopter is found, the foster parent must coordinate with the ACCT Life Saving office to approve the adopter and finalize the adoption. If the foster parent decides after time that they would like to keep the dog/cat, they must complete the adoption process and pay the adoption fee. ** Fostering is not a trial adoption.**
More about fostering:
Although previous fostering experience is not required, ideal foster care provider will have basic knowledge of animal care and training and be committed to finding their foster animal a safe and loving “forever home”. As a foster care provider, you will provide the animals with care including, food, water, shelter, training, grooming and medical treatment when necessary. The PSPCA will provide clinic and vet care, behavior and training resources, and adoption counseling. We rely on the foster parent to find an adoptive home for the dog/cat, but we can help! We provide adoption events for you attend, can post your foster dog/cat on Petfinder for you, etc. We cannot guarantee how long a foster dog/cat will be in your care, since you keep the dog/cat until an adoptive home is found, which can be anywhere from 2 weeks to a few months depending on the dog/cat, and how heavily you market it.
