And now, a few words from me: Hi, my name is Mowgli and I'm a really cute little puppy looking for a forever home. I love to play with my toys and frolic with other little dogs. I have loads of energy and love to jump and run. But I also like to take naps and still need lots of rest after playtimes. I love to snuggle up and cuddle. I like company and don't really like being left alone or locked up in a crate and will cry to let you know I'm unhappy.
And now, a few words from my foster mom: Mowgli is an adorable and very lively little puppy. He loves to play with his toys, chase a ball, and play tumble with other little dogs. He is very active and athletic and would do very well in agility training. He is only 16 weeks old, but can easily jump out of a playpen!
Mowgli would do best in a home that will provide him with the stimulation that he
needs and the companionship that he craves. He does not like being left alone and will cry. He likes to follow his person around, but will quietly curl up at their feet for a nap. He sleeps nicely in his little bed at night, preferably in the same room as his mom and/or dad or other caregiver.
He seems to be fine with children and likes giving kisses, but only with older kids that are aware of how really fragile his tiny bones are. No preschoolers or children that play rough.
Mowgli is working on his housetraining, but has not yet learned to "ask" to go out. He is a very intelligent little boy and this should not take long. Because he is still a puppy, he needs a home where someone is there most of the time and has the energy and time for him. It takes a special kind of home to raise a puppy. While puppies are cute and playful bundles of joy, they do not come without work! They have frequent accidents and need someone who is home with them for the most part of the day to give them potty breaks until their housetraining is well underway. The first few months are crucial for their training, development and socialization. Puppies and young children, while they sound like a natural combination, too often do not go hand-in-hand. Puppies jump, chew, and do a lot of playful mouthing with those very sharp puppy teeth! Young children by nature are bouncy and energetic and can easily injure and/or frighten a young puppy. Small breed puppies in particular are very delicate and need to be handled with care. If you think you have the time, patience and guidance to give to a young puppy then we look forward to receiving your application! Please ensure that you submit a fully completed application. Often we receive several applications for the same dog and if you leave out important details then you may be inadvertently eliminating yourself from consideration. Please visit the FAQ section on our website for more details. Thank you so much for considering a rescued dog.
