And now a few words from my foster mom: Coconut is a cute little guy, backing away from me a bit but following me around the house, curious as to what has happened to him. He likes his crate, friendly with the rest of the animals..I will add to his Blog soon..
http://marieanne-coconutmay1311.blogspot.com/   Coconut has had many changes over the past 5 years of his life. He was purchased from a "Pet Boutique" by someone who should have never had a dog to begin with. Poor Coco spent 10-12 hours every day in his little crate while his owner worked. When she came home she was too tired to pay him any mind. No walks, no cuddles, no playtime. Coco had a very sad and lonely life.   Thankfully a lovely retired couple heard about Coco's situation and offered to take him in. Because of his sheltered and lonely life in a crate, Coco had no idea how to do stairs, walk on a leash and he wasn't house trained either (at 2 years old!). This couple was very committed to helping Coco and soon he was a very happy boy, walking, running, playing and cuddling! He enjoyed having his fur-brother to hang out with loose in the house when his new owners had to go out. He went to obedience classes and learned his commands too!   Coco's new owners loved and cared for him dearly, however Coco got a bit of an Alpha Dog complex due to a lack of rules and discipline - he has growled at, and he has bitten the husband. This, coupled with the fact that the husband was diagnosed with a chronic illness, resulted in Coco's home deciding that it were best if LOYAL could find him a more appropriate family. Since arriving in rescue he has been a perfect little gem. He is very sweet and very well behaved - no incidents to report at all. He will need to go to a home who will give him basic rules - I am happy to talk more about this if you'd like to email me at the below address.   Coco is good with other dogs, and is perhaps more on the shy/submissive side with them. He is fine with cats too! In Coco's previous home, young children did visit the home, and Coco never had any sorts of issues with them, and did enjoy their company - however he was always closely supervised. We would prefer to place Coco in an adult-only home OR in a home where there are pre-teens / teenagers just as a precautionary measure. He is house and crate trained - and is a quiet boy. Loves going on walks. Has a wonderful recall. He will make an excellent addition to one lucky family! Don't keep him waiting long!   miniplumiris@yahoo.ca
