And now, a few words from me:

My story is really kind of sad.  My owners surrendered my brother and me to this nice rescue because I guess they just got tired of having older dogs around and wanted to get a puppy instead.  Can you imagine anyone giving away their faithful companions in their senior years because they just can’t be bothered with us anymore?  I suppose it was all for the best though, because we were badly neglected.  My brother’s mouth was so full of infection that he lost all his teeth, and it looks as though I may lose mine too.  I am waiting for a dental to be done and I will likely lose my remaining 5 teeth.  I am skin and bones, my spine sticks out and I am severely underweight.  My new foster mom and dad are making sure I get the needed vet care and lots of good food and of course, lots of love which I honestly have never known before.

And now a few words from my foster mom:

Mickey is an adorable little boy who is so appreciative of every little thing you do for him.  He just thrives on being held and cuddled, and is starving for affection.  He is a contented little boy who loves everyone who will take the time to give him any attention.  He appears to be housetrained, and is a very good little boy.  He comes when called and walks well on a leash.

We are hoping to find a home for Mickey who will make up for all of the years of neglect and starvation he has suffered.  This poor little guy acts as if he is afraid to eat, and has to be coaxed to even take a bit of food from your hand.  I am sure this will change quickly though, when he is offered a good quality food and treats that will help put weight on his little body.   He needs so badly to find someone to love him and give him a forever home that he will never have to leave again.

Because he has been neglected all his life, Mickey is looking for someone who will be home most of the time.  He would be heartbroken if he were left alone all day.  Another small, friendly dog or two would be great too. 

He doesn’t appear to know how to play with toys……just so sad; but we are hoping to change that quickly too.  He is surrounded with all kinds of toys.  Little Mickey, you are dearly loved in your foster home, and we promise you that your forever home is just around the corner.  Would you like to be the lucky person to take Mickey home?  For more info, please call carol@loyalrescue.com.
