I am Chomps, and I am the ultimate Jack Russell - a happy little 6-year old boy, pure bred and rarin’ to go. I am a broken coat Jack, so I am a little scruffier than the other guys. But everywhere I go I am a rock star!

I take my foster dude out for walks every day, and I am very good at heeling. Being this awesome takes work so I keep in shape by winning the occasional lure course race and running in the park or by the lake.

I am fully house trained and I was top dog in Level 1 and Level 2 of obedience training. I also know tons of other commands such as "off", "drop it", "find it" and "get in your bed".

I am HIGHLY motivated by treats and I respond very well to positive reinforcement. I am a social guy and I play well with other dogs, and if you throw a ball for me I will fetch it until one of us drops. Then when we get home, I will probably steal one of your socks and sleep with it because it smells like you.

Life was not always this good for me. I spent my first four years as a stud in a puppy mill, and I was not let out of my cage very often. When the nice people rescued me, I was not house trained, I did not know my name — I did not even know how to play. Foster dude keeps saying I have "come a long way", whatever that means.

I have a very strong prey drive. In fact, I am a full-on force of nature. As a result, I am not a good fit for people with babies, very young children or small animals (such as cats). In a perfect world I would end up in either:
- a dog-savvy household with active masters who do not have (or plan on having) children, or
- a rural setting in need of a guard dog or hunter.
