Meet Momma Peekaboo
Update:  Momma Peekaboo has been waiting over 2 years for the purr-fect home.  She has had a dental surgery to extract bad teeth and is on a diet to lose weight.  She is a very affectionate cat but does not like to be picked up.  She is most content to sit beside you, or cuddle up on your bed outside the covers.
Momma Peekaboo was surrendered by a hoarder with 28 cats in February 2011. It would be much better for her to be in a home with only a few other cats, so she can get the attention she so badly needs, and she deserves to be with someone who can afford regular veterinary care and good food and litter. Her former home didn't provide litter, and she developed a bad infection in her nail beds from scratching in feces. She had a few litters of kittens in her time! Her first litter includes Odette, who is nowadopted. Momma Peekaboo also had other litters, and one of her many "grand-kittens", Betty Bubbles was with us here at Healing Animal SCARS until she found a good home. Momma Peekaboo was a little timid when she first arrived, as is normal for any cat experiencing a change in environment, but she warmed up quickly! When we brought her into the house after spending a few months in our rescue workshop, she didn't even seem the least bit fazed by being surrounded by 8 new cats. I am confident that she would fit into any new situation quickly. She even gets along with our little dog! There won't be any more kittens for this girl, who is only about 5 years old. She is now spayed and we had her tested for Feline Leukemia, FIV and heartworm. She has also been vaccinated and treated for all her parasites. Her family was flea infested and she feels much better now that she doesn't have the creepy crawly little parasites all over her! She is a very friendly cat who enjoys playing and getting brushed. When we rescued her, she had a dirty collar nearly embedded in her neck! Her fur is much softer now that it gets brushed regularly and she is on a high quality diet. Her feet are no longer stained with urine and feces, because she is offered a couple of litter boxes with plenty of litter for her bathroom needs, rather than having to use newspaper in her former dirty overcrowded conditions. She deserves a chance at a real home where she can be spoiled and treated like the Princess she truly is! This cat has already been tested for Feline Leukemia and FIV, has been vaccinated and spayed/neutered. Please consider adopting this lovely kitty!
