Max(tank) Pointer & Labrador Retriever Mix Riverdale, NJ

I believe Max and Ruby (formally Tank and Lily) would be best suited for a home with either no children, one child or older children who can help with their care. Max is a really strong personality but wants to make you happy. He is very affectionate and loving and wants attention all the time. He doesn’t realize his own size or strength and may paw you or jump up on you, never to hurt you only for attention. Ruby is much more timid. She has been like this since we took her home however, I think being that she is in a house with two other dogs both of whom are her superior and it is enforced even more. She needs a home that is very patient and can bring her out of her shell a little. She would be well suited for a family with either no children, 1 young child or older children to help with her care as well. They need a home with a fenced backyard or a family who will walk them and give them plenty of exercise (these are high energy dogs). They will need some leash training again as they do not go for walks but have free range of our backyard (about an acre of property). Most importantly they need a home with experienced dog owners. These are NOT dogs for a first time dog owner. They need an owner who is also a strong personality and will be more dominant than them. Especially Max. Ruby can go to an owner who is a little more docile. These dogs need a lot of love, they are very sweet, house broken (however Ruby will eat things around the house) and a home with patience and time to put in the effort to deal with a few of their quirks and behaviors.
