Meet Honey
Honey is a very beautiful, sleek, playful, and loving, 18-month-old, 58-pound, red and vanilla, female pit bull terrier looking for a loving home.
You may remember the freezing day in February when news spread of two dogs falling through the ice of Lake Michigan. Two dog lovers who live near the Howard Street Beach saw them fall through and bravely jumped in after them. The border collie-ish one got out on his own, but Honey was giving up the fight. These amazing women saved her life.
The male dog, Howard, found a home, and Honey is currently living in a foster home with other dogs, cats and kids and is doing great. But, it’s time for her to find a home of her own.
Honey is crate-trained, mostly housebroken when kept on schedule, and learning commands like sit, down and stay. She’s an active, muscular and energetic dog who would be great in a home with someone willing to continue her training and give her daily exerices. She’d be fine in a home with another playful dog, dog-savvy cats and kids over 10 years of age because of her size and energy level.
Honey walks beautifully on leash with her head harness, and is a phenomenal running partner. At night she snuggles in bed with her foster mom, and she spends days playing with other dogs.
As with all One Tail at a Time dogs, Honey is spayed, vaccinated, heartworm tested, and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $200.
