Meet Enzo
ADOPTION PENDING!!
If you are interested in adopting Enzo, please fill out our dog adoption questionnaire and e-mail it to LM2N@earthlink.net.
For more information about Enzo and his family, including more photos and videos, go to their blog!
Enzo is a real lover - he spends his time quietly cuddling with mom and enjoys being held by 2-legged friends as well. He's not as forceful as his two brothers so he's not the first to get noticed in the bunch, but he'll melt into you if given a chance! Enzo was sponsored and named by Pam.
Enzo tends to scare a bit easily, running away from loud noises and new stimuli. He'll need a home where he gets the support and guidance he needs to grow into a self-confident pup. We'll be looking for a home for him where he'll get obedience training to boost his confidence and maybe even a friendly, stable dog to teach him that the world is an exciting, not scary, place.
Born December 29th in a high kill shelter, Enzo came to a great foster home in the DC area when he was only 3 days old. Since then he's been growing, exploring, cuddling, and, really, just being a puppy!
Enzo (and the other pups in this litter) are well on their way to being housetrained. They do their best to keep their crate clean - they cry when they need to go out and will run to the door when their crate is opened to try to make it outside. They do need to go out after eating and playing, and about every 3-4 hours otherwise, but they're smart pups and seem to understand the concept of housetraining, even if their bladders haven't quite caught up!
Because we have no idea who the father is, and Belle weighs about 50 pounds, we cannot adopt these pups to folks with weight restrictions. In addition, these puppies will only be adopted out in the DC/Baltimore metro area.
Breed Estimate: retriever; we're guessing golden retriever/Aussie for Belle and we have no idea who the puppies' father is
Sex: male
Approximate weight: we don't know; mom weighs about 50 pounds
Approximate age: born December 29, 2010
Location: DC-area foster home
Housetrained: working on it!
Coat Type: thick and soft; we're guessing he'll have a thick, medium-length coat
Personality: friendly, playful and all puppy!
Enzo's adoption fee is $350, which covers the cost of his routine medical care and other expenses while in foster care. This fee DOES NOT INCLUDE the cost to neuter him; if you adopt Enzo, you will be required to sign a contract legally obligating you to have him neutered. ***Note that puppy adoption fees help generate revenue that goes towards older, special needs animals that need our help. For example, any excess fee beyond what is needed for Louis will help with the cost of Belle's heartworm treatment. Surgeries and other vet needs, boarding costs, training expenses....all things that often result in adoptable dogs and cats being left behind to be euthanized. So adopting a puppy saves not just one life, but many!
If you are interested in adopting Enzo, Colin, Louis, or Marty, please fill out our dog adoption questionnaire and e-mail it to LM2N@earthlink.net.

You can save pups like Enzo by becoming a foster! Fosters are like way stations between high kill shelters and forever homes. We need fosters so that we can save dogs before they are euthanized at the shelters - without a wonderful foster, Belle and her puppies would not have made it to safety. If you are interested in becoming a foster, please check out our information about fostering animals.
Thank you for contacting Homeward Trails Animal Rescue and helping to save a life!
