Meet Lucky
Hey there! You have read my profile before, so what’s keeping you from calling? Seriously, I am a wonderful dog who loves to be with humans! I really think I am more human than dog – I bet you could even teach me to potty in a toilet! I love treats and would do anything to get one. Alrighty, so my name is Lucky, and I am now 7 years old. I have been in rescue for awhile. Don’t get me wrong, I like my foster parents, but I am ready for my forever home. They have decided that I really need a home without other animals since I want to be the center of attention. Apartment living won’t work for me since I like to bark when you leave for a few minutes. It’s my way of saying goodbye. I really need a home where someone is there most of the time. I know families have lots of activities, and I would prefer to go to those activities with you when possible. You might have to do some work to make sure I am on my best behavior when we are away from home. So, here is some more information about my background. Lucky has been my name for my whole life, and apparently I am like a cat with nine lives! I have been hit by a car (thankfully my owner got me the care I needed), and I have jumped out of an open Jeep twice (and lived! again I was taken to the vet to be checked out). Well, I think everyone around me knows that I won't be the type to ride in an open bed of a truck or Jeep. I do ride really great in a regular car or SUV - I don't even try to help you drive! I love spending time outside (under supervision, of course). My most recent family was busy with sports, and when they would take me along to sports events, I would bark when I saw my human brothers run out onto the field. So I love being outdoors, but someone needs to train me to not bark unless I get their approval. When I get bored or someone isn’t paying attention to me, I might have an accident in the house, so my new owner will need to keep me close to them when I am out of my crate. I do know how to ring a bell to let you know that I need to potty outside. I am up to date on my vaccinations and am neutered. I am also micro chipped. I have a bad tooth that a vet said we just have to keep an eye on, I have had it for awhile, and it continues to do fine. It definitely does not keep me from eating, and I love soft treats! I know some basic obedience, mostly sit and shake. As you can tell from my picture - I am absolutely adorable with my sweet face! I am a very good boy, and I can be a couch potato when you want to be. I am doing very well in my foster home, and I am crate trained. I might bark a bit when you leave for work to just let you know that I will miss you. I am a pretty sound sleeper; usually my foster mom brings one of my foster brothers and sister down in the morning to go out, and they wake me up when they run down the stairs. I weigh about 65 lbs. I can sit for a treat, and I am working on offering my paw to shake for a treat too. I would be best getting lots of love and affection from someone willing to make me a prince of a forever home. I am being fostered in the Louisville area.
