Meet Asha Adopted
Asha is available for adoption.
Asha and Cody have arrived into foster care in Southern, Maine and Cody has just recently been adopted.
Asha was born in March 2007 and is 3 1/2 years old in these pictures taken October 9, 2010. Her owners picked her and her brother, Cody, out of a litter of 7. Their mom was a Great Pyrenees and dad was a Mastiff.
Asha is a very sweet, sweet dog. She and her brother were surrendered to the shelter when their owners had to move and could not take the dogs with them.
Asha is an outgoing and active girl. She hasn't met anyone she doesn't like. Asha is houstrained. She is wonderful with children; she is happier around other dogs and will be placed in a home with at least one other dog. She would do better in a home without a cat, as she likes to give chase. She also enjoys playing with toys. She does need work walking on a leash. Asha is a strong gal and her tail can be registered as a weapon, but she just loves to be patted and loved upon.
Asha is up to date on shots, is spayed, and is HW negative. She is on HW preventative and weighs 77 lbs and is currently in Arkansas.

All known information is listed here. If it is not listed here, then we do not know if this animal is good with cats or kids. Before sending an inquiry, please read our "How To Adopt Page & FAQ" pages of our website. http:www.almosthomerescue.net/adopt."

This dog is available unless it is marked as Pending, meaning "pending adoption".
If this Dog is marked Urgent, it is because the Arkansas shelter where he/she resides is overfull. Please do not ask local shelters to take this dog in, there are many reasons why they cannot. Please also do not send us letters about why we euthanize, AHR does not euthanize, but the shelters we work with do. We are a rescue and we pull as many dogs as we have foster homes and funds for. We, like the shelter, do not have unlimited resources. Please, please: foster, adopt or sponsor a dog to help save their lives.
Â
. We pay a Transportation Service from Arkansas to bring the dogs to New England. The adoption fee is $350 for puppies through 6 months of age, $300 for dogs 7 months-5 years, and $275 for dogs 6 years and older.
