Meet Wyatt

This is Wyatt! He is a big man--about 70lbs. with tall, tall legs! He was pulled from a high-kill shelter on what was slated to be his last day alive. He is a husky/shepherd/ridgeback mix and is a VERY handsome boy---he has sleepy husky eyes, a lovely tan coat, and a cool 'V' of color on his forward--he is a very original looking man!

Wyatt is still a puppy (just over 1 year old) through and through-although he is potty trained and knows 'sit' (he also gives paw automatically
every time he sits!) and is mastering down--he is very goofy and wiggly and can be a bit puppy naughty--he is a prime age and disposition for further training and is very food motivated! He is social and is in desperate need of a family that can give him the love and attention he deserves. He would do well with another dog or two in the house as he constantly desperately tries to play with his foster sister who is a bit haughty and prefers human attention to dog
attention :(
Wyatt likes ALL the children he has met on the street and in the park--but because of his size and need for consistent training to de-puppy him I would recommend him for a house with children over the age of 10, perhaps slightly younger if the family was dog experienced.
Wyatt walks well on a leash and loves to go to the park
to run around on his big silly legs! He loves his chew toys and his big stuffed bed and snacks!
*Update* Wyatt has been going into the dog park every day for over three weeks now--he has a blast every time and gets so excited to go out for a walk and heads directly towards the dog park. He plays well with big dogs, small dogs, puppies, and old dogs--he is no longer nervous and is just having the best time!! Wyatt needs some help learning not to bark at other dogs when he is leashed and on a walk---but he is very good and has a great time playing with dogs at the park!

Wyatt is VERY affectionate with his foster family--but he has been dumped once already which seems to have had a profound affect on him--it takes him a little bit of time to warm up to new people and show his truly affectionate side. He is never aggressive--he is VERY gentle--but needs to feel very comfortable in his surroundings before he lets you get to know him 100%. As his foster mom, I can tell you--it's worth it. Wyatt needs and deserves the perfect home--someone who is willing to give him a chance--to let him warm up so they can share in the warm wonderful side of Wyatt that we see every single day. Wyatt is a very special guy--and he is waiting for his new family to see, really see, the dog that he is.

Wyatt is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots andpreventatives. He is currently in a FOSTER home and not at the shelterso please email mimiolsen@att.blackberry.net to meet him.
