Meet Ralphie-Adopted!

The Adventures of Ralphie!

Meet Ralphie! DOB 4-2-10 He was named after his foster mom's grandpa, who was a fighter! Ralphie was rescued when he was just 2 weeks old. He was found all by himself with no mama and no siblings. He was on death's doorstep. Home FurEver rushed him to the vet right away and got him on the path to recovery. It was touch and go for a few days, but he is pulling through.
He now can walk and eat on his own and loves to play! He likes to carry around a rope tug toy that is much bigger than he is. He also loves to try to get a tennis ball in his mouth... I think it will be several weeks before he can fit one! He is very playful with other dogs and isn't afraid of anything. His foster grandma took him up north and he even loved the sand.
5/3/10 Boy is Ralphie growing. He has more than doubled his size now. He can now see and hear but walking is still more of a wobble. He is trying to learn how to run too, which is hillarious! Now that he can hear, he is learning a whole new world around him. He'll watch the tv when the Dog Whisperer is on, he is very interested in the thunderstorms we've been having lately too. He was a real snuggle bug this past weekend... I think he fell into the "rainy weekend slumber". His progress has been amazing!

5/5/10 - Ralphie had another great vet check up yesterday! He is now 3 pounds which means he has more than tripled his weight. His infections have totally cleared up, he got his first shot and his first heardguard chew. He's getting more playful everyday. He is starting to take an interest in crunchy dog food now, so we'll start cutting back on his formula mash. He loves his Mother Hubbard dog biscuits that his foster grandma got him. Boy does he get excited when he sees that bag come out of the pantry!
5/9/10 - Ralphie went on his first official walk today. He couldn't quite make it all the way around the block, but he tried! It was so nice today that he spent most of the day outside and boy did he have fun! He ran around in the grass, played with the bugs and other dogs and enjoyed napping in the sunshine. He is learning how to sit but will only do it for turkey. He had such a great time that he passed out for the night at 8pm! What a great day with Ralphie!

5/23/10 - Ralphie is up north today! It is a beautiful day on Lake Huron and Ralphie is enjoying every minute of it! He is playing on the beach and trying to catch minnows in the shallows of the shore. Too funny. Safe to say he loves the water! He met his first wild turkey and deer this morning too! He is not afraid of anything. He is such a well rounded little guy.

6/1/10 - Well... we got Ralphie's DNA test back! What a Heinz 57! If the adopter would like to have the results, they can reimburse the foster mom the $65. We'll just give you a teaser on his breed make up on Petfinder.

Please note that Home FurEver does not post applications on line. We will receive all applications in person at local adoption events in order to conduct an in-person interview. All members of the household should be present for the application and interview process. All applicants require a home inspection - Please note that we cannot drive more than an hour to do a home inspection. We do require a fenced back yard for all bully breeds. Some dogs may require households with children over the age of 5.

Ask yourself some questions before you consider bringing a new dog home.

1. Am I ready for a LIFE LONG commitment?

2. Am I prepared for a roudy puppy?

3. Am I prepared to potty train?

4. Is this the right breed for me or my family?

5. Can I afford the food and vet care for this dog?
6. Is it best to have a totally fenced yard?

7. Will I make a commitment to obedience training?
