Abby ADOPTED! American Staffordshire Terrier Mix West Richland, WA

Abby is
a small but energetic bundle of fun who loves to cuddle on the couch almost as much as she loves to run circles around the yard. She was probably born around Fall 2008, so is unlikely to get bigger than her current 45 lbs.



She gets on fairly well with other dogs, although as a youngster she does tend to test their boundaries. Sometimes during play with other dogs she gets over-excited, which can lead to arguments, so for this reason she is not recommended for dog parks. We also believe she would do better as an only dog or as the companion of a tough but mellow male.



With people she is just a lover. She will play, cuddle or kick back, as you choose. Her intelligence and her strong desire to please mean that she responds well to training. She has excellent indoor manners, walks beautifully on a leash, and seemed safe with cats during her brief evaluation at the shelter. Her energy level during play is probably too high for a young or timid child, but with kind, confident children aged about 10-up we would expect her to do well.



We rescued Abby from an Eastern WA shelter, where she was scheduled for euthanasia due to overcrowding. She is now in a foster home near the Tri-Cities, where she is learning a lot of skills to bring her to her full potential as a great family dog. Her fosters say she's an easy girl to have around the house, whose activity level tends to reflect whatever is going on around her.



Like all Mikey's Chance dogs, she will come to you spayed,
up-to-date on all vaccinations, treated for parasites, and microchipped. Her adoption fee of $125 will help offset these costs.
