Meet Hachi–ADOPTED!
Hachi has been waiting for a year and a half for his forever home and he found it yesterday (3/19/11)!!! When Hachi got all of the wonderful news coverage, a young man called his father and said “Dad, this may be the dog you have been waiting for.” So his father looked Hatchi up on-line, got a little more information from us and was approved to adopt Hachi. Hachi's new dad is a very dedicated and experienced dog owner that has had many beloved dogs in his lifetime and always gravitated to the ones most in need. Many people had offered him dogs to fill the void of losing his last dog, but, he said he was waiting for a dog that not everyone else would want, and one that needed him. We at Pal Rescue are grateful that he and Hachi found one another. The two hit it off immediately when we home delivered Hachi yesterday—Hatchi has "arrived" and was at ease the moment he walked in the door. The two will be enjoying many long walks and Hatchi will be getting lots of dedicated attention and he dearly loves both.We want to thank each and everyone of you that spread the news about Hachi. We at Pal Rescue are very greatful that he is finally home for good.
County fire fighters brought Hachi into Affordable Animal Hospital in Torrance with third-degree burns covering over 60 to 70 percent of his body. He was nothing but a sweetheart from the time he was carried in - black and charred with the pads of his feet literally falling off. Long weeks of treatment and recovery followed the initial day the fire fighters rescued Hachi and the vets at Affordable Animal Hospital kept him alive.
Luckily, he responded well to treatment and luckily for someone else, he is ever so sweet. He will make a certain someone or family a very special companion. He is loyal and a totally devoted animal.Much of the burn areas covering his face and body will never grow hair back, there is not much left of his ears either... but we are looking for someone who can overlook what many may find unsightly on the outside to see what a jewel he is on the inside and be reminded of all those that are good in the world:Fire fighters willing to risk their own lives for that of another and especially that of "just a dog."The vets, technicians, groomers and staff at Affordable Animal Hospital that helped him along in his recovery. The county shelter for footing the bill of this special dog's lengthy road back to health.Hachi is ready and waiting for a home as special as he is.All of our dogs can be seen by appointment with an approved application, so please e-mail us for one at info@palrescue.org.
