Meet Munchie
Munchie is a four year old, 12lb dog, guessed to be a Lhasa /ShihTzu mix, who is looking for a loving home.
Munchie, short for Munchkin, was turned in to the local city shelter by his owners who had "no time" for him. With his family, Munchie is a loving, sweet, affectionate dog who is healthy and housetrained. He does well with other small dogs and tolerates cats.
We know Munchie has had a hard time previously in his life as he is fearful and is very difficult with new people. He needs a great deal of guidance, space, and time to adjust. Munchie has made great progress in his foster home, but in a new surrounding he may regress at first and will need patience and training.
Munchie will do best with a home in the suburbs or in the country where surroundings are less hectic and where he will have a chance to run around and get a lot of exercise. Munchie might be able to be adopted to a city home if his owner had a great deal of experience working specifically with dogs who have behavioral problems and was able to be home for a significant part of the day and evening.
Please do not apply if you have not had strong previous experience living with a dog and working with his/her behavior issue.
If you have an adoption application on file with Metropolitan Maltese Rescue and are interested in being considered as Munchie's forever family, please email us to let us know. Otherwise to apply to adopt Munchie, please submit our online adoption application found at www.malteserescue.com
